50 % of heating cost savings
KFZ-Polaschek about the economical Puls-air workshop heating system.
In the south of Carinthia, in Eberndorf to be precise, Alexander Polaschek runs a car workshop for all brands. In 2019, the owner set out to find a suitable heating system for his approx. 200 m² workshop.
Polaschek became aware of the Puls-air workshop and hall heaters from Tyrol, which run on heating oil, through an internet search. After a telephone consultation, he was convinced and decided to order a heater (Puls-air Plus 23.5 kW).
The heater is so compact that it is delivered on a Euro pallet. Dimensions approx. 75 x 5 5x 95 at 75 kg. For commissioning, the heater must be placed on the floor of the room to be heated. The exhaust gas is routed outside via the roof using a 35 mm stainless steel pipe. The manufacturer recommends connecting the appliance to a larger tank. Overall, Puls-air is very easy to put into operation and no separate chimney is required, just the 35 mm stainless steel pipe.
Puls-air has been on the market since 1984 and was developed by Georg Pletzer, who at the time was working intensively on engines and, in particular, the pulse engine. During his research, he noticed that pulsating combustion generates enormous heat with very low fuel consumption and excellent exhaust values. As a man of action, he began to use his findings to develop a heater that makes other heaters look cold in terms of consumption and efficiency. The exhaust gas values (NOX - 25 - 30, CO - 2 - 5 ppm; soot number 00) and an efficiency of 97 % make other heating solutions look cold. The smoke from a cigarette, for example, has 10,000 times more CO than the exhaust gas from Puls-air. Puls-air is now in its 3rd generation and the enthusiasm continues to grow.
Thanks to the efficiency of 97 % just mentioned, workshops and hall owners save a lot of heating oil and therefore money. Most Puls-air owners surveyed by Puls-air were able to more than halve their heating costs.
Puls-air was awarded the Austrian State Prize for Energy Research and the Environment and the Bavarian State Prize for Special Technical Achievements in Craftsmanship.
Low costs are important, but it is at least as important that the hall/workshop is warm. Because Puls-air is placed on the floor of the room to be heated and the warm air is released near the floor, it is distributed where work is being carried out. As the warm air is lighter, it rises slowly at some point, cools down again at the top, sinks and is drawn back through the device preheated. This creates a slowly rotating thermal air roll which heats the room evenly and saves heating costs. Mr. Polaschek mentions that his workshop is warm within 5 - 10 minutes, even on cold winter days.
The Puls-air team will advise you by phone, email or WhatsApp on which heater is right for you and answer all your questions.
On the one hand, this is due to the patented pulsating combustion with an efficiency of over 97 %. Combustion produces an oscillating column of gas that changes direction 64 times a second. Movement = heat. These changes of direction (explosions) are accompanied by a sound wave and a pressure wave, which also produce heat. On the other hand, the positioning on the floor of the room to be heated saves heating costs. The manufacturer describes it as creating a slowly rotating thermal air roll in the room (see pictures). The warm air is released near the floor, where it is distributed, rises, cools down again at the top and, preheated, is drawn in again and again by the appliance.
With Puls-air, you save money at every turn. It starts with the low-cost commissioning, the economical operation and the maintenance costs, which are hardly worth mentioning and can be easily carried out by yourself according to the operating instructions.
Space is at a premium in many workshops and halls, however large they may be - every corner is needed. With a footprint of approx. 1 m² and a height of approx. 1 meter, Puls-air is extremely compact and does not take up much space.
There are 2 models of Puls-air. Puls-air Standard up to 600 m³ and Puls-air Plus up to 1,800 m³. Both values with very good insulation. For larger rooms, several devices can also be used in combination.
With conventional ceiling fans, a lot of heat is lost through long pipes. Heating large quantities of water in the boiler also requires a lot of energy. In addition, conventional oil burners have poor efficiency. With Puls-air, the efficiency is 97 %, which means that almost all the fuel that is introduced is converted into heat. In addition, Puls-air stands on the floor of the room to be heated, releases the warm air where it is being used and creates a slowly rotating thermal air roll in the room. The air is not always heated from 0, but is drawn through the heater again and again, preheated.
GF Schinagl also notices positively that the running noise of Puls-air is much more pleasant and that much less dust is whirled up than with the ceiling fans.
