50 % of heating cost savings
From ceiling fan to economical pulse-air workshop heating
"Values instead of words". This is the slogan of Autohaus Wirth in Wildflecken, Bavaria. The company has been repairing and selling vehicles since 1960. In 1986, Wirth became an authorized Toyota workshop. In this report, owner Hans-Jürgen Wirt shares his experiences with the Puls-air workshop heater from Austria.
Since autumn 2022, Mr. Wirth has been heating the entire service hall with a Puls-air heater. Before that, the space was heated with three ceiling fans. Wirth explains that heating costs have fallen drastically since then. The ceiling fans required a lot of energy and heating oil. In addition, a lot of heat is lost through the many pipes. The physically unfavorable positioning of the fans on the ceiling of the hall also leads to higher heating costs. Often, the warm air even has to be forced downwards against the laws of physics with additional fans. The ceiling is usually at sauna temperature and the employees below are freezing. With Puls-air, it makes more physical sense to release the warm air directly in the floor area, where people are working.
You don't have to be a physicist to know that warm air is lighter than cold air and therefore rises. Puls-air makes use of precisely this effect. As already described, the warm air is released in the floor area. After it has been distributed there, it rises slowly, cools down again at the top, sinks back down and is repeatedly circulated by the heater when preheated. Puls-air describes it as follows: "A slowly rotating thermal air roll is created in the room." The result is an optimal and cost-saving distribution of heat in the room. No more cold feet when working in winter. "Since we've been heating with Puls-air, we've had far fewer draughts in the service hall," adds Mr. Wirth.
With an efficiency of 97 %, the patented pulsating combustion converts almost all the fuel supplied into heat. In combination with the heat distribution described above, this saves heating costs. A positive side effect of pulsating combustion is excellent exhaust gas values.
"The background noise has improved significantly thanks to Puls-air. The ceiling fans were much louder," says Wirth.
The Puls-air heater is supplied on a Euro plate. For commissioning, only the exhaust gas needs to be routed outside via the roof using a 35 mm stainless steel pipe. There are 2 models available: Puls-air Standard up to 600 m³ and Puls-air Plus for 1,800 m³. (Both values with good insulation). For larger halls or workshops, 2 or more devices can also be used in combination.
Thanks to the enormous savings in heating costs, the Puls-air workshop and hall heating system pays for itself after just a few years. Especially now, when costs are rising in all areas, it is important to heat efficiently and economically. Puls-air is an investment for the future, the oldest heaters have been running for over 30 years.
