50 % of heating cost savings
Gerald Holzmann, KFZ Holzmann GmbH on the economical Puls-air workshop heating system.
Since 2020, Holzmann has been heating its workshop (total area around 600 m²) with 2 heaters from the Austrian manufacturer Puls-air. Previously, ceiling fans were used, which were no longer acceptable to Holzmann in terms of consumption, heat distribution and running noise.
In 1978, the Austrian engineer Georg Pletzer (founder and developer of Puls-air heaters) was commissioned to develop an engine with pulsating combustion. A striking feature of these engines was their completely smokeless combustion. It was also noticeable that these engines produced a lot of useless heat. It was almost logical that a heater was developed from this, with an efficiency of 97 %. The idea for Puls-air was born. As a man of action, the engineer immediately set to work. The first Puls-air heater was delivered in 1984. The pulsating combustion patented by Pletzer continues to impress workshop and hall owners to this day with its extreme economy, low emissions and low noise levels.
Puls-air has been in its 3rd generation since 2023. Inventor Georg Pletzer hands over sales in Austria to his grandson Luca Pletzer. Sales and production for Germany, Switzerland, England, Italy and the Czech Republic are handled by his son Werner Pletzer.
Warm air rises. This is why hot air balloons fly, for example, and why it is also physically advantageous if the warm air for heating a workshop or hall is released near the floor and not on the ceiling. Puls-air is placed on the floor of the room to be heated and creates a slowly rotating thermal air roll in the room. The warm air is perfectly distributed in the room and reaches the area where work is being carried out, the floor area. This saves heating costs and enables rapid heat distribution even when doors are opened and closed frequently.
Due to the low emissions, the Puls-air heating system only requires a 35 mm stainless steel pipe above the roof to the outside as an exhaust system. The costs for commissioning are very low and no separate chimney is required
There are 2 models of Puls-air. Puls-air Standard up to 600 m³ and Puls-air Plus up to 1,800 m³. Both values with very good insulation. For larger rooms, several devices can also be used in combination.
With conventional ceiling fans, a lot of heat is lost through long pipes. Heating large quantities of water in the boiler also requires a lot of energy. In addition, conventional oil burners have poor efficiency. With Puls-air, the efficiency is 97 %, which means that almost all the fuel that is introduced is converted into heat. In addition, Puls-air stands on the floor of the room to be heated, releases the warm air where it is being used and creates a slowly rotating thermal air roll in the room. The air is not always heated from 0, but is drawn through the heater again and again, preheated.
GF Schinagl also notices positively that the running noise of Puls-air is much more pleasant and that much less dust is whirled up than with the ceiling fans.
