Save 50% on heating costs
During a telephone interview in the summer of 2020, Günter Götz, owner and master car mechanic, describes his experiences with the Puls-air heater from Austria.
Autohaus Götz, location in Bad Kissingen since 1995, was founded in 1985. In 2009, the workshop was expanded by approx. 340m² and now has 6 workstations for 15 employees. The company specializes in the brands Fiat, Nissan and Abarth. The workshop management is already taken over by the son of the owner, who is already well integrated in the family-run business.
Due to the reconstruction of the workshop and the office in 2009, Mr. Götz had to think about how to get the new premises warm in winter. The old premises were heated with hot-water blowers (ceiling blowers), which, according to owner Götz, could not transport the heat down to the workplaces and thus wasted a lot of energy. "With the ceiling blowers, after all, it's not only gas that has to be paid for, but also electricity. This combination leads to significant costs." says Goetz. The explanation for the fact that the warm air in ceiling blowers does not reach the workers at the bottom is a simple physical principle: warm air rises upward, so heat is distributed in the head area and not in the foot area, where the workers need it. The Puls-air heaters are placed on the floor of the room to be heated and can thus take advantage of the effect of the thermal air roll. This saves heating costs and increases efficiency. The reasons for the efficiency of Puls-air:
In the interview, Götz mentioned the high "energy efficiency" several times as the main advantage of the Puls-air workshop heating system. He found it plausible that the efficiency of the unit must be high if the emission values are so low. And it's true. Mr. Götz has consumed an average of 2,000 liters of heating oil in recent winters, which, at a heating oil price of about €0.6 per liter, adds up to about €1,200. Well noticed for 2.000 cubic meters. The company boss confirms that the costs were twice as high with ceiling fans. Götz heats his workshop between 18 and 21 degrees. On nights below 0 degrees, he runs the heating at 7 - 8 degrees. In the morning, his workshop is warm within 30 - 50 minutes, depending of course on the outside temperature and how often his 4 doors open and close.
"Very easy" "A piece of cake" "Problem-free". These are the key points that Mr. Götz lost in response to the question: "How did the commissioning of your heater turn out?". The owner connected the heater via copper pipe to an existing heating oil tank, led the exhaust gas via 35 mm stainless steel pipe over the roof into the open air, connected 230 V electricity and the heater was ready for operation. Since Mr. Götz put the system into operation 7 - 8 years ago, it has been running without malfunction with over 10,000 operating hours. He finds it particularly pleasant that the maintenance costs are minimal and that the unit performs its service reliably and steadily. Götz recommends Puls-air not only to workshops, but across the board to all companies that have to heat premises in which work is carried out.
"Describe the pulse-air heater in 3 words:"
Götz: "Square - simple - good".
