Save 50% on heating costs
Joe Knecht, owner of Knecht Automobile, describes his experience with the Puls-air heating system from Austria.
Knecht Automobile in Hettenschwil, Switzerland, has been there for its customers since 2004. According to the motto "Quality is our drive", repair and service work for vehicles of all brands is carried out in the in-house automotive workshop. Furthermore, Knecht has a diverse and wide range of used cars.
In order to be able to work in the in-house automotive workshop even in winter, Knecht inquired about a suitable heating system for his workshop, which is relatively high at 6.5 meters.
During a visit to a trade fair in Frankfurt in 2016, Knecht was impressed by the compact Puls-air heater from Austria. In the same year, he was the 1st Swiss to order a Puls-air heater.
At the beginning, Knecht was concerned about whether the heater from Austria would be able to heat his workshop, as it is relatively high at 6.5 meters. It quickly turned out that the "slowly rotating thermal air roll" described by the manufacturer, which is generated by the heater in the room to be heated, does its job. The heat in the workshop is where it is needed, namely in the floor area where work is being done.
Physically correct, the pulse-air heater is placed on the floor of the room to be heated. The warm air flows out of the device at about 50-60 degrees, distributes itself in the floor area of the room. When enough cold air is heated from the floor, it rises. At the top, the air cools (since there is no ceiling fan or similar heat source), sinks back to the floor, and is thus preheated and pulled through the heater again. The result is a "slowly rotating thermal air roll" which saves a lot of heating costs.
The counterexample would be ceiling fans, which push the warm air downward, against the physics with high energy expenditure. The cold air is thus located where it is not needed, in the floor area with the employees.
Especially now, when all resources are more expensive than ever, it is important to heat efficiently. Puls-air has proven efficiency of 97%, conventional oil and gas heaters have an efficiency between 50 & 60%. This means that only 3% of the fuel used is not converted into heat. Due to a patent only Puls-air is allowed to install and distribute the pulsating combustion.
An important factor in Mr. Knecht's decision to purchase a new heating system was the installation or commissioning. Most heating solutions require a technician to install the heater, which of course involves additional costs. The Puls-air heater is delivered on a Euro pallet, placed on the floor of the room to be heated (min. 30 cm away from the wall). Connect 230 volt power, discharge exhaust gas via 35 mm stainless steel pipe to the outside, if necessary connect the device with existing heating oil tank (for immediate start-up a 20 liter tank is attached to the back of the device). DONE.
Mr. Knecht describes that the heating system has already been in operation for 2016 years without any major maintenance. This is only possible because the pulsating combustion is so clean and free of combustion residues. Good for the maintenance costs and for the environment!
